ShineMonitor not updating? How to fix it
If ShineMonitor or the SmartClient app is stuck on an old reading, the problem is almost always between the Eybond WiFi stick and the internet, not the panels.
1. Check it's daytime
Inverters switch off without sunlight, so there's no new data at night or very early morning. Check again in daylight.
2. Read the stick's lights
Most Eybond sticks have four lights:
| Light | On means |
|---|---|
| PWR | The stick has power |
| COM | It's talking to the inverter |
| NET | It's connected to your WiFi |
| SRV | It's reaching the ShineMonitor server |
- NET off: the stick can't join your WiFi. Check the router is on and in range.
- NET on, SRV off: WiFi works but the server isn't reachable. Restart the router, then the inverter.
- COM off: the stick isn't reading the inverter. Unplug it, wait ten seconds and plug it back in firmly.
3. Changed your router or WiFi password?
The stick still has the old details. Reconnect it through the SmartClient app, or follow Connect the WiFi stick step by step. Most sticks only join 2.4 GHz WiFi, so pick that band if your router has two.
4. Still nothing?
Make sure you can sign in at shinemonitor.com and that the plant still lists your datalogger's PN number. If the stick has failed, your installer can replace it.

Why is ShineMonitor showing old data?
Usually the Eybond WiFi stick has lost its WiFi connection or can't reach the server. Check its NET and SRV lights first.
How often does ShineMonitor update?
Readings normally arrive about every five minutes while the inverter is producing. Nothing new appears at night because the inverter is off.
Do I need to reconfigure the stick after changing my router?
Yes. If the WiFi name or password changed, the stick needs the new details, entered through the SmartClient app or the stick's own setup network.
